We all are students for life provided we have zest to learn. We keep learning, exchange ideas, and keep discovering new things. A month ago, one of India’s equipment rental industry leaders, Jitender Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Aggcon Equipments International Pvt. Ltd. called for introduction of international exchange programmes for equipment rental companies. He urged Global Rental Alliance (GRA) to discuss this idea and take it forward.

The Global Rental Alliance (GRA) is a networking organization of equipment rental associations to promote rental worldwide and has eight rental association as members from Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australasia. GRA also enables its members to learn from one another and discuss universal issues. GRA is currently administered by ERA – European Rental Association

Jitender Aggarwal said, “The Global Rental Alliance (GRA) should work on exchange programme where they should facilitate a study tour of equipment rental companies to each other member countries. This will help equipment rental companies globally to build relationships, build capacities and bring excellence and uniformity in best practices.”

While at bauma Munich 2022, Jitender Aggarwal spoke with leading European Rental Companies, like Zeppelin, Infra Rental, TWF and explored possibilities of exchange programmes.

“The exchange programmes will help in shaping up India’s equipment rental industry according to global standards and help in creating future industry leaders and aligning the Indian rental SOPs with European level,” he emphasized.

Siddharth Armaan Sharma, Assistant Director, Premier Infra Services, said, “Aligning our rental SOPs with European standards will be of great help since it will make our fleet management much easier and efficient.”

“We also need to start with similar tri party agreements with the clients and the banks to secure our payments similar to what is done in European countries,” he added.

Rental exchange programmes can give first-hand experience of learning best systems and processes and modern rental business trends, and then implementing the global standards in an organization. For countries like India, such programmes will help transforming rental industry to the international standards.
