Defence Ministry to buy Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks from ACE & JCB

New Delhi, 21 Feb 2025 (TRT): The Ministry of Defence signed agreements with ACE Limited and JCB India, on Thursday for the procurement of 1868 Rough Terrain Fork Lift Trucks (RTFLT) at a total cost of ₹697.35 crore. This significant acquisition will enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy.

An official release from the Ministry of Defence highlighted the importance of the RTFLT, stating, “Rough Terrain Fork Lift Truck (RTFLT) is a critical equipment which will assist in various combat and logistics support tasks by avoiding manual handling of an enormous number of stores, thus enhancing the operational effectiveness of Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy.”

The contract signing took place in the presence of Defence Secretary R K Singh.
