Equipment Rental companies are understanding the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and fulfilling it in an organized way.

A fast-growing infrastructure equipment rental company, AGGCON Equipments International Pvt Ltd contributed Rs 75 Lakhs recently as part of their CSR policy in PM Cares Fund, Swachh Bharat Kosh and National Defence Fund.

Jitender Aggarwal, Chairman & Managing Director, AGGCON said, “AGGCON is committed to serve the nation and society through various social programmes and policies. Our corporate social responsibility policy is guided by a principle – With every business comes a responsibility, a responsibility to give back to nation and society.”

“Serving nation and society is paramount and it gives satisfaction and joy. Therefore, I also urge India’s #equipmentrental companies to have CSR policies and undertake corporate social responsibility programmes and contribute to the nation and society proactively,” he added.

According to the United Nations, “Corporate Social Responsibility is a management concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and interactions with their stakeholders.”

On April 1, 2014, India became the first country to legally mandate corporate social responsibility. It became mandatory for companies with mentioned turnover and profitability to spend 2% of their average net profit for the past three years on #CSR activities or funds.

AGGCON also runs a special programme under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to promote education of girl child of their employees by sponsoring her education.

Jitender Aggarwal is also vehement about reducing #carbonfootprints and says, we should sensitize equipment rental industry to care for environment.

He urged industry to adopt 5R – Be Responsible, adopt Renting to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

“As Renting reduces carbon emissions, so government should introduce a policy of giving fiscal incentives to #construction companies for renting like in some European countries”, he added.
